We monitor the number of DHCP leases for dynamically-assigned IP addresses; such IP addresses are leased by OIT DHCP servers to clients of OIT Mobile IP Service, Temporary Visitor Wireless Network Access (TVWNA), Temporary Unregistered Dormnet (TUD) IP Service, and Visitor IP (VIP) Service. This information is retrieved from OIT DHCP Service.
By design, these statistics exclude BootP assignments and DHCP leases for statically-assigned IP addresses (e.g. OIT Static IP Addresses).
Green indicates the number of unique clients assigned DHCP leases. (A client is uniquely identified by its hardware address, or technically, its DHCP Client Identifier.) Blue indicates the number of DHCP leases assigned. The number of leases may exceed the number of unique clients when some clients hold leases from more than one DHCP server.
The monitoring is performed with rrdtool, and mrtg-rrd.
The display you see will be refreshed automatically by your Web browser every five minutes.
